Existing surface

Crown molding, base molding and faux wood paneling.

Preparation

Molding and paneling removed; exposed surfaces repaired, reinforced with fiberglass mesh, skim coated, sanded and primed.

Applied finish

Two hand-applied coats of Meoded Palladino lime plaster, followed by the appropriate protective sealer.

Specialty Finish FAQs

What is the difference between Venetian plaster, limewash and microcement?

Venetian plaster is trowelled in layers for depth and sheen. Limewash is a brushed mineral coating with soft, matte color variation. Microcement is a continuous cementitious finish; wet areas require an appropriately specified system.

Can you apply a finish over my existing walls or fireplace?

Often, but suitability depends on the existing surface and chosen material. We assess adhesion, repairs, reinforcement and priming before defining the preparation in your written scope.

Can I see samples before choosing?

Visit our Wayne finish studio by appointment. For installation projects, color, texture and sheen are confirmed through the agreed sample process. Retail custom sample boards are purchased separately.

What determines the price?

Surface area, existing conditions, access, preparation, finish system and the desired texture affect the scope and price. We provide a written proposal for your project.

Retail Custom Sample Boards

Custom boards to take home.

Explore the color, texture, and movement of your chosen finish on a hand-applied 12 × 12-inch sample board. Compare it alongside your flooring, cabinetry, and furnishings, in your own lighting.

$50 per board for preparation and application labor. Purchase a quart of your chosen finish product separately, or its smallest available container.

Ready in 3 days after your product and color are confirmed. Your unused product is returned with the completed board.
